PHYSIOTHERAPY IN BASEL
Physiotherapy in Basel (from everyday life to elite sport)
I treat acute and persistent musculoskeletal problems, osteoarthritis and post-operative limitations. Some cases are more specialised (sport, concussion or vestibular problems). Others are less dramatic on paper but still disruptive in real life: movement feels restricted, strength has dropped, or confidence has simply not come back yet.
GENERAL PHYSIOTHERAPY
You don’t need to be an athlete to come to the clinic
I also treat more general or persistent musculoskeletal problems: back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, shoulder, hip or knee pain, rehabilitation after surgery, loss of mobility or strength, and difficulty returning to everyday activities or work.
Treatment is adapted to your situation and your goals. Sometimes the emphasis is movement; sometimes it is strength, progressive loading or manual therapy. Often it is a mix. The end point can be very different from one person to another (moving comfortably in daily life, returning to work, walking further or simply trusting your body again).
Common situations
- Back or neck pain
- Osteoarthritis and joint pain
- Shoulder, hip or knee pain
- Rehabilitation after surgery
- Persistent or recurring pain
- Loss of mobility, strength or confidence in movement

CARE THAT ADAPTS TO YOU
The diagnosis alone does not define rehabilitation
Two people with the same diagnosis may need completely different things. One wants to walk up stairs without pain; another needs to run, lift, cut or train several times a week. Treatment therefore starts from your actual situation (symptoms, function, daily demands and, when relevant, sporting level).
Depending on what is useful, treatment may combine exercise, strength work, mobility, manual therapy, education and progressive loading. There is no prize for using more techniques. The point is to choose what actually helps you move toward your goal.

1
Understand your situation
The first assessment is mainly about understanding what is actually limiting you today. Pain may be part of it, but so can mobility, strength, balance, exercise tolerance or confidence in movement. From there, we decide together what deserves attention first.
2
Build a progression
Treatment progresses according to concrete criteria, not just according to the calendar. We look at symptoms, mobility, strength, tolerance to load and the demands of your daily life or sport. The aim is to move forward, but without pretending a step is complete when it is not.
3
Return to what matters to you
The final stage depends on your goal: return to work with confidence, hike, run, cycle, ski or regain your sporting level. Rehabilitation should bring you back to the activities that matter in real life.
